While England's constitutional monarchy looks ridiculous from this view, the Queen's 60th anniversary feels a bit different than her 25th in 1977.
At this point, she's more a nice old lady than symbol of class inequality and a remnant of feudalism (although she is still a symbol of those things).
If you went down to the Old State House for cake today, you may not enjoy The Sex Pistols' salute.
