THUR 10/9: Found Film, Rock, Greek/Iraq Tragedy

Found Footage Festival
I'm figuratively going fishin' today, but I will type furiously tonight to get everything done...

THUR 10/9

The Found Footage Festival '08
at Coolidge Corner Theatre, 290 Harvard Street, Brookline

The guys who brought us the online Found magazine are going around the country to show us a new set of hilarious, found video-footage. I watched the preview, and this is definitely funny! Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher will present the offerings to make you laugh in between clips.

This Car Up, Dolphinbot, The Diggs, Birdwatchers of America
at Great Scott, 1222 Comm Ave, Allston
$8 / 18+

The bands that are the standouts are Birdwatchers of America (ex-Red Telephone) and This Car Up, but it’s a good music night.

THUR 10/9 to SAT 10/11

7:30 p.m
"Ajax in Iraq"
at Zero Arrow Theatre, 0 Arrow St / corner of Mass Ave, Cambridge (Harvard Sq)
$10 / $5 students / $5 seniors

“...uses Sophocles' Ajax to view and interpret the current war, combining ancient Greece and modern-day Iraq to explore a veteran's madness and suicide.”

Discussions with playwright Ellen McLaughlin will follow performances.

An additional matinee 1:30 pm on SAT 10/11.
