TUES 10/11: Talk, Eat, Drink/Dance

Kinda slim, cheap pickings today...

There are couple chances to win free concert tickets: Xfinity is offering a chance to win a pair to an event at the Wang Center (deadline: 10/13). Thrillist is having a drawing for a Sting prize package including tickets for his upcoming tour.

TUES 10/11

6pm to 7:30pm
WorldBoston Great Decisions Series: "Banks, Governments, & Debt Crises"
at Boston Room, Boston Public Library, 700 Boylston St, Boston (Copley Sq)

Charles Kane is a lecturer at MIT/Sloan (and president of One Laptop Per Child), so he should have some insight that he can clearly share about the Wall Street collapse and it's continuing effect.

TUES 10/11

6pm to 10pm
Thai Tapas Tuesday
at Ronnarong, 255 Washington St, Somerville (Union Sq)
Free Tapas plate with beer purchase

This happens every Tuesday, but I don't think I've mentioned it before.

When you but a beer, you can get a free tapas plate -- that costs the same or less than your drink. You can do a lot worse, if you're hungry and/or thirsty; especially since the food is really tasty.

Someone from Smuttynose Beer is also doing a tasting (6pm to 8pm) of their IPA, Pumpkin Ale, and Old Brown Dog. So have a free sample, then order one for free tapas. I'm sure they'd be glad to make a pairing suggestion.

TUES 10/11

Bushmills Celebrates "Since Way Back"
at The Beehive, 541 Tremont St, Boston (South End)
FREE with RSVP / 21+

Feat: DJ Nancy Whang, DJ Gucci Vuitton, DJ Kon

Presumably "Since Way Back" is a new Bushmills ad campaign. If you RSVP, you and your +1 will probably get a free Irish whiskey drink.

If you can get in, because:

Admission is based on capacity, so please arrive promptly at 8pm.
I didn't say it, they did. It will probably be a full house, because these things usually are -- and some will recognize Nancy Whang from LCD Soundsystem and The Juan Maclean.
