Thursday & Friday Calendar

These are my highlights for Thursday...

If you want to laugh: Chris Elliott is pimping his new book at the Coolidge Corner Theatre ($5 tix available through Brookline Booksmith), and local funny guy Rob Crean will interview him.

If you love history: The folks at the Longfellow House are talking about stuff they found that might have belonged to George Washington (FREE w/ RSVP, call 617-876-4491).

If you like when art gets science-geeky: Check out the "In the Holocene" opening reception at MIT's List Visual Arts Center (FREE).

If you like fairy tales: They are the theme for a story slam at The Puppet Showplace Theatre ($9 advance / $10).

If there's still space to RSVP: I would like to see Bill Janovitz (Buffalo Tom), Tanya Donnelly (Throwing Muses/Belly) sing jazz standards in Kendall Square.

If you want to rock out: Somerville is my place with Shepherdess & Bunny's a Swine in Davis Square ($5) - or - Will Dailey & Audrey Ryan in Union Square ($8).
