Sneak Peek: SUN 11/7

In case I don't get my act together for tomorrow...

--------------------------------------------------------------

SUN 11/7

Noon to 6pm
South Boston Open Studios
The Distillery, 516 E 2nd St & King Terminal, 570 E 1st St, Boston (Southie)
FREE

I was satisfied after walking through the Distillery building, but the King Terminal is about a block away -- and both are a short walk from Broadway T. There were lots of edgy, interesting rooms in this building.

SUN 11/7

Noon to 6pm
Fenway Open Studios
at Fenway Studios, 30 Ipswich St, Boston (The Fens/Back Bay)
FREE

I haven't been inside yet, but the attraction is that every studio in this long flat building has plenty of north light, which is supposedly good for painters.

SUN 11/7

Noon to 6pm
Waltham Open Studios
at Waltham Mills, 144 Moody St, Waltham
FREE

When I lived in Waltham, it was a fun afternoon walking through the old mill buildings and seeing the different artist studios. I'd encourage you to go to whichever spot is closer to you and see some cool, locally-made art. I can't help it -- I love talking to creative people!

SUN 11/7

Noon to 6pm
Roslindale Open Studios
around Roslindale
FREE

Hey, want to walk around Roslindale and visit artists? It seems like there a bunch of open studios and multi-artist spots around Roslindale Village and more beyond.

SUN 11/7

1pm
"Notable Visitors": Walking Tour
at Mount Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mount Auburn St, Cambridge (near Watertown line)
$10

I find this curious, because it's also informational about the people who 'reside' there and those who just visited here.

SUN 11/7

3pm
Bleu: In-Store Performance
at Newbury Comics, 332 Newbury Street, Boston (Back Bay)
FREE

Before his 11/9 gig at TT the Bear's ($10 advance / $12 door)

SUN 11/7

7:30pm
The International Pop Overthrow: Night #5
at PA's Lounge, 345 Somerville Ave, Somerville (Union Sq)
$10 / 21+

7:30pm -- Jason Bourgeois
8:15pm -- Corin Ashley
9pm -- The Destries
9:45pm -- This Blue Heaven
10:30pm -- 1.4.5.
11:15pm -- Dave Rave
The IPO is finishing with a really strong night that will make the Monday hangover worthwhile. Dang!

SUN 11/7

9pm
Asa Brebner Band
at Toad, 1912 Mass Ave, Cambridge (Porter Sq)
FREE

Or Asa Brebner and friends bring the free straight-up rock 'n roll.

SUN 11/7

Drivin' N Cryin (10:20pm), Sons Of Bill (9:20pm)
at TT the Bear's Place, 10 Brookline St, Cambridge (Central Sq)
$10 advance / $15 day of show

I have no idea what Drivin' N Cryin sounds like these days. You can probably get advance tix on Saturday at TT's.
