Cheap Thrills: WED 2/13

It's trickling out this week. The Cheap Thrills list, that is...

WED 2/13

10am to 6pm
Women's Heart Health Fair
at Belvidere Arcade, Prudential Center, 800 Boylston St, Boston (back side, behind Pru Tower)

If you're near the Pru today and you're a woman, there are free health screenings, various seminars on nutrition, fitness, and healthy lifestyle info. This seems to be the kind of thing to find all sorts of pamphlets if you don't have a lot of time...

WED 2/13

"Quickies": Opera Boston Underground Valentine's Show
at Lizard Lounge/Cambridge Common, 1667 Mass Ave, Cambridge (between Harvard Sq & Porter Sq)
$8 / 21+

The four semi-staged mini-operas -- short yet complete vs. arias from larger works -- will only be about on an hour of music for $8, but it's better than paying $70+ for more opera than I'd care to hear in one sitting. It's also a much longer walk to the bar (or bathroom) at the Cutler Majestic. Believe it or not, this gets pretty crowded so you should get there early if you really want to get in.

The Dennis Brennan Band is also playing at 9:30pm for $5 in his frequent and extraordinary way.
