FRI 10/17: Rock, Blues, Art

I know I've been sucking on the weekends. I think I'll be up-to-date all around by the end of the day. Everything below would be a good choice. It all depends on what you want...

--------------------------------------------------------------

FRI 10/17

Hallelujah The Hills (Midnight), Wonderful Spells (11pm) Magic Magic (10pm), The Needy Visions (9pm)
at TT the Bear's Place, 10 Brookline St, Cambridge (Central Sq)
$10

Hallelujah The Hills is one of the best bands in town, and they're starting to get the attention they deserve. Wonderful Spells are really good. I'm looking forward to hearing Magic Magic and The Needy Visions live; interesting stuff.

FRI 10/17

9:30pm
The Scissormen, Peter Parcek Band, Darien Brahms
at Lizard Lounge/Cambridge Common, 1667 Mass Ave, Cambridge (between Harvard Sq & Porter Sq)
$8 / 21+

Holy cow! This is going to be a bluesy, rootsy rock heaven on earth. I hope you can get in.

FRI 10/17

10pm
The Lyres, Live Fast Die, Cause Co-motion
at Milky Way Lounge, 403 Centre St, Jamaica Plain
$8

The Lyres are worth the admission by themselves. On top of the classic garage-rock, Live Fast Die are pleasantly sloppy punks; and Cause Co-Motion are tasty, punky pop.

FRI 10/17 to SUN 10/19

11am-6pm (Friday: 4-7pm)
Annual Fort Point Open Studios
all around Fort Point (South Boston/Seaport)
FREE

Some of the artist studios are open tonight, hundreds of artists are still in Fort Point and you can see it (the art) for yourself.
