THUR 3/20: Post-Work Booze & Great Rock

aloud

I have so much to do, but these were too good not to let you know...

--------------------------------------------------------------

THUR 3/20

5pm to 7pm
Cocktail Tasting with Haus Alpenz
at BRIX, 105 Broad St, Boston (Financial District)
FREE

Tough day at the office? This sounds darn good to me:

We are delighted to host Eric Seed of Haus Alpenz for a "Royale" tasting showcasing the Rothman and Winter Orchard Apricot Liqueur, Crème de Violette, and Orchard Pear Liqueur.
I don't know about you, but "Royale" means "champagne" to me... There are descriptions of the liquers on the Haus Alpenz site.

THUR 3/20

9:30pm
Aloud, Radio America, The Shapes
at Great Scott, 1222 Commonwealth Avenue, Allston
$8 / 18+

If you feel like listening to some great, blood-pumping rock tonight this is the show. I saw Aloud about a month ago; they were the openers, and they were my favorite of the night. Radio America sound great, and how many bands have a song named after a major Hindu text? The Shapes also have the male/female vocal set-up like Aloud, and they sound a little edgier to me.

I wouldn't be surprised if any one of these bands were big-time within a year. (I should've added this to last week's weekly list...)
