MON 12/8: Indie-Rock, Bowling

Yeah, I didn't see much going on tonight for $10 or less. Maybe you won't feel like going out, but there is still some fun to be had.

--------------------------------------------------------------

MON 12/8

9:30pm
Love Is All, Crystal Stilts, Reports
at Great Scott, 1222 Comm Ave, Allston
$10 / 18+

So you didn't get tickets to Letters To Cleo, but you still in the mood bouncy, sassy, female-fronted indie-rock? There's something going on in Sweden, because bands may soon overtake furniture and meatballs as their main export. (Don't you love Peter Bjorn and John? Do they export Swedish meatballs?) Love Is All have a fun punkish take on their songs with a yelping vocals prancing on top and all around.

There does seem to be UK-greyness to Crystal Stilts. The songs have varied tempos, and there's a good mix of genre elements in the Brooklyn band's catchy songs. I like hearing bands like this that make interesting music without bouncing off the walls. Locals reps on the bill, Reports, will bring the punch and noisy, head-bouncing balance at the front of the night.

MON 12/8

6pm to 1am
Free Bowling and Pool

6pm to 9pm
Pizza Buffet
$7 -- All You Can Eat

at Milky Way Lounge, 403 Centre St, Jamaica Plain

I've been a fan of the the Milky Way and their free Monday bowling.

With a dearth of cheapness tonight, this seems like a good time to remind folks that bowling and billiards are free for most of the night. They've recently added a 3-hour pizza buffet for $7, and this is a deal! The price is right, and the food is categorically excellent. I love their pizza and everything else I've had.
