Sneak Peek: SUN 10/10

This is the cool numerological day of the year -- 10/10/10. Think about what you're doing at 10:10am or pm.

And if you have Monday off, think about all the free cultural stuff in the Fens.

Update: After last night's pub crawl, I don't really have the urge to do much typing right now. I have added a flash-mob happening in the Common this afternoon.

--------------------------------------------------------------

SUN 10/10

10am to 8pm
Irish Heritage Festival
around Adams Village, Dorchester (shuttles from Ashmont T and North Quincy T)
FREE

Shouldn't Columbus Day weekend be about Italians...?

Besides the T stations, the shuttles run from a couple nearby parking lots.

SUN 10/10

10am
Volkswagen Day
at Larz Anderson Museum, 15 Newton St, Brookline
$10 / $5 seniors, students, ages under 12

Seeing an old VW now and then is good enough for me, but you may love vintage Volkswagens.

SUN 10/10

Noon to 6pm
Annual Harvard Square Oktoberfest & HONK! Parade
along JFK St, Brattle St, Mass Ave, Church St, and Charles Sq in Harvard Sq, Cambridge

SUN 10/10

3:30pm to 4:30pm
MP3-EXPerience: Boston
start near Parkman Bandstand, about 165 Tremont St, Boston (Boston Common)
FREE

It's pretty easy. You download the file on your mp3 player, press play at exactly 3:30pm, and follow along with what you hear.

Also bring something that tells time (and displays the seconds), something that takes pictures, and wear a yellow/blue/red/green shirt or jacket.

There's a Facebook page.

SUN 10/10

5pm to 10pm
The Harry Potter Alliance’s 5th Anniversary
at Arts at the Armory, 191 Highland Ave, Somerville (Spring Hill)
$10 (+ $1 facility fee?) / All Ages

Feat: Harry & the Potters, The Whomping Willows, Lauren Fairweather, Justin Finch-Fletchley & the Sugar Quills

Potter-themed music for all ages. There should be free pizza (keep in mind how fast that usually goes).

Hardcore Harry fans can start with Sunday Quidditch (1pm to 3pm) is happening at MIT's Briggs Field.

SUN 10/10

8pm
HONK! Blow-Out
at Somerville Theatre, 55 Davis Square, Somerville
$10

One more chance to see the Honk! bands who'll get 10 minutes each.
