WED 12/21: Science, Stories, Music

Benjamin Disraeli was born on this day in 1804, and he said:

Be amusing: never tell unkind stories; above all, never tell long ones.
Without further ado...

--------------------------------------------------------------

WED 12/21

5pm to 7pm
Virtual Worlds Ideas-in-Progress Exhibition
at Cloud Place, 647 Boylston St, Boston (Copley Sq)
FREE

This is a chance to interact with the future change-makers of the world and feel a little hopeful by talking to them about their science projects.

"Light food and refreshments will be served."

WED 12/21

9pm
StoryLiars: "That's The Sound Of Da Police"
at Milky Way Lounge/Bella Luna, 284 Amory St, Jamaica Plain (The Brewery Complex)
FREE

Feat: Ted Pettingell, Brendan Thomas Crowley, Dan Crohn, Al Park, Laura Crawford, Dan Boulger, Mike O'B, Evan Kenney, Harry Gordon, Christa Weiss, Ethan Marsh, Lillian DeVane, Ryan Douglass

Hosted by: Walter Cornelius, Rob Crean

Every month or so, a group of funny people and/or good storytellers get together under different themes. The twist is that one of them is lying, and the audience guesses the culprit.

Tonight's theme revolves around brushes with the law, so any outlandish story could be true... I suspect a couple people will perform some stand-up comedy as well.

You can't be disappointed with any prize after you get into the show for free, right?

WED 12/21

9pm
For the Sake of the Song: The Band's "Music from Big Pink"
at Great Scott, 1222 Comm Ave, Allston
$10 advance / $12 day of show

Feat: Greg Klyma, Dressing the Debutantes, Autumn Hollow, John Colvert & the Great Brighton Fire, Patrick Coman & the Lo-Fi Angels, Sam Otis Hill

I'm listing this because:
1) It looks like you can still get a $10 ticket online.
2) They're playing "Music From Big Pink" from beginning to end, which works really as a whole listening experience.
3) It's a benefit show (I think for a local music program offshoot of this group).
